Dear Members,

Just a quick reminder that our Indigenous Jumper Presentation is taking place tomorrow (Wednesday 21 July) at 6pm.

One of our Indigenous Year 9 players, Jaxon Wright, was tasked with creating a design that represented the traditional owners, the club and the grounds on which we play. With the assistance of his grandmother, Jaxon has created an amazing design entitled “Gathering by the River”. We thought this was the perfect fit as it encompasses the club, culture and community and we hope it is a small step in the continual recognition of the Whadjuk people as the traditional owners of our land.

Our senior Year 10 and Year 9 teams have been great ambassadors for our club for many years. For this reason they will be recognised and presented with Indigenous Jumpers tomorrow. And depending on the feedback we receive these may be rolled out to all teams over the next two years.

We’d like to thank Jaxon and his family for their significant contribution to this project and we hope you can make it to the presentation (and free sausage sizzle) tomorrow evening. If you are unable to attend but would like to see the jumpers, both teams will be in action this weekend at Troy Park (Year 9 – Saturday 10am, Year 10 – Sunday 2.30pm).

Kind regards

Attadale JFC Committee
